National Treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Abankwa-Yeboah has been re-elected for another four-year term.
Mr Abankwa-Yeboah beat five other contenders to emerge victorious at the Koforidua Tehchnical University Park, where the elections were held.
The pharmacist polled 2,492 votes of the 5,510 valid votes cast to emerge winner.
Second placed Nuhu Bayorbo Mahama polled 1,050 votes while Mary Posch-Oduro with 1,004 votes placed third.
Hajia Ruka Ahmeed came fourth with 467 votes while Abraham Obeng Amoakohene came fifth with 447 votes.
Occupying the bottom place in that race is Kwabena Oppong Frimpong, who polled 50 votes. Thirty-seven ballots were rejected.
Before the Conference began on Saturday, Mr Abankwa-Yeboah moved for the acceptance of the financial report he had prepared from the previous regime.
He was a subject of power play at NPP’s headquarters during the tenure of National Chairman Paul Afoko and then General Secretary Kwabena Agyei Agyapong.
The two elected officers were said to be scheming to remove him from office.
But he appears to have settled in well under the new leadership of Mr Freddie Blay, who also got the nod to be the substantive National Chairman.
