The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has interdicted five officers serving at the Aflao Sector Command in the Volta Region. The five were interdicted with immediate effect, a circular sent to all controls within the Service said. They are alleged to have been involved in the facilitation of illegal entries of foreign nationals through unapproved routes in the Aflao Sector Command. Their action is said to be in contravention of Section 52(1) of the Immigration Act, 2000 (Act 573). Female students of Ayirebi Senior High School in the Eastern Region are living in fear following heightened attacks from unknown assailants. The students complain the lack of a fence wall around the school has exposed them to incessant attacks from miscreants who live in the main town. Pressure group Occupy Ghana has demanded the immediate reversal of the decision by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ask Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo to proceed on his accumulated leave. The issue has degenerated into a legal tussle between the Presidency and Mr Domelevo. His arrest follows a complaint by parents of the victim after she complained of abdominal pains.
