The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has interdicted five officers serving at the Aflao Sector Command in the Volta Region. The five were interdicted with immediate effect, a circular sent to all controls within the Service said. They are alleged to have been involved in the facilitation of illegal entries of foreign nationals through unapproved routes in the Aflao Sector Command. Their action is said to be in contravention of Section 52(1) of the Immigration Act, 2000 (Act 573). Female students of Ayirebi Senior High School in the Eastern Region are living in fear following heightened attacks from unknown assailants. The students complain the lack of a fence wall around the school has exposed them to incessant attacks from miscreants who live in the main town. Pressure group Occupy Ghana has demanded the immediate reversal of the decision by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to ask Auditor-General Daniel Yaw Domelevo to proceed on his accumulated leave. The issue has degenerated into a legal tussle between the Presidency and Mr Domelevo. While the Presidency is convinced the law backs its directive for the Auditor-General to go on leave, Mr Domelevo believes Mr Akufo-Addo’s decision may have been taken out of bad faith as his work, he believes, may be “embarrassing” the government. A woman who goes by the name Akua (not real name) said a doctor from one of the reputable health institutions in Ghana performed a Caesarean section, also known as C-section, on her when she had gone there to deliver. A 49-year-old vulcanizer, Fuseini Issah, is in the grips of the Nyankpala police for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl. His arrest follows a complaint by parents of the victim after she complained of abdominal pains. The suspect allegedly gave the victim a GH¢1 note and warned her not to disclose the incident to anyone.
