Ivory Coast’s PM Amadou Gon Coulibaly has died after falling ill at a ministerial meeting. Thirty-two members of staff at the Tamale Teaching Hospital have tested positive for Covid-19. The number comprised 19 doctors, 12 nurses and one orderly. The Director of Medical Affairs at the Hospital, Dr. Abass Adam, confirmed this to journalists on Wednesday, July 8. Ghana’s Covid-19 cases have now hit 22,822. This is as a result of 854 new cases confirmed by the Ghana Health Service in its periodic update on Wednesday, July 8. Worryingly, recoveries-cum-discharges have slowed, triggering a rise in the number of active cases under management and care. From 17,156, the recoveries/discharges are now 17,564. This has seen a sharp rise in the active cases, from 4,683 at the last count to 5,129.
