About 46 workers of the Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation (BOST) Company Limited have tested positive for Covid-19. In a memo issued by the Managing Director, Edwin Provencal, this was known after all 162 staff at the head office were tested. “Due to this result, the contact tracing unit will be calling all the staff who have tested positive to start self-isolation immediately.” The head office has been closed, as a result. Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta has announced a phased reopening of the country amid a rising number of coronavirus infections. The president lifted travel restrictions in and out of Nairobi, Mombasa and Mandera counties, which are some of the regions with the highest coronavirus cases. Over 200 health workers including 99 medical doctors have petitioned the Chair of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) to halt the ongoing mass voter registration exercise in order to prevent Ghana from suffering potentially thousands of deaths from coronavirus.
