Government has begun the construction of a harbour at Mpakadan in the Asuogyaman Constituency of the Eastern Region, a former top official of the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority (GPHA) has disclosed. The move is to create employment for the people in the Constituency and the Region, especially, the youth. Ghana’s Covid-19 active cases continue to go down as the latest update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) sees the figure now confirmed at 2,270 from the previous 2,458. There were no new deaths, keeping the number at 215, while the recoveries-cum-discharges reached 38,727. This means over 400 persons recovered overnight. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has been engaged by the Minister of Education, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, at a meeting on Monday, August 10 following President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s plea over the punitive measures taken against some 14 final year students.
