The Savannah Regional Director of Health, Dr. Chrisantus Kubio, has confirmed the death of one person who tested positive for Covid-19 in the region. One other person is also on admission at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Catholic Hospital in Damongo. The deceased, according to Dr Kubio, has since been buried at a cemetery outside Damongo in accordance with the protocols put in place for Covid-19 burials. Ghana’s Covid-19 case count has seen a further reduction in the number of active cases under care and management at facilities and homes spread across the country In the latest update released by the Ghana Health Service on Friday, 447 new cases were confirmed. This shoots the total cumulative cases up from 26,125 to 26,572. There were more patients who either recovered and were discharged as their number is now 22,915, an increase of about 645. The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) has announced the continuation of its registration in senior high schools and prisons as well. The Commission said this is to enable those who could not register the last time do so.
