A task force formed by the Saboba District Security Committee to monitor the activities of smuggling in the district has impounded over 1,000 bags of fertilizer meant for the Planting for Food and Jobs (PFJ) programme. The PFJ fertilizers were intercepted on Tuesday, June 30 around 1 am at Wurugu. Air France-KLM plans to cut more than 7,500 jobs at its French arm as the airline industry reels from the coronavirus crisis. Europe’s second-biggest airline will cut 6,560 staff at Air France, with its regional French carrier Hop! losing 1,020 jobs, the company said on Friday. Some eligible applicants defied the rains Saturday morning to queue to register for their new voter ID cards. It was a wet morning on Day 5 of the ongoing registration and many thought the rains would stop eligible voters from going to the registration centres.
