The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) has assured the public that it will make up for the time lost at registration centres where the exercise delayed on Sunday. Most centres across the country, at the start of Phase 3 of the exercise, witnessed delays as a result of the breakdown of the biometric voter registration (BVR) machines. They have since been quarantined, according to the Headmistress of the School. The school recorded a case of Covid-19 on Friday after seven samples of girls who were suspected to have contracted the disease were tested. Eight vehicles were involved in an accident between Darkuman Junction and Dansoman Junction on the Odorkor-Kaneshie stretch of the Accra-Kasoa Highway. There was only one casualty who had a fracture at the knee. But all the eight vehicles were affected. The vehicles are DAF, Daewoo Matiz, Toyota Yaris and Toyota Haice. The rest were Kia Rio, Nissan Sentra, Toyota Rav 4 and a Kia Morning taxi cap. Coronavirus infections in Ghana have now hit a total of 24,248 cases. This is according to the latest update by the Ghana Health Service (GHS) released on Sunday, July 12. This was obtained after 414 new cases of the disease were confirmed across the country. Out of this, a total of 19,831 have recovered and been discharged with 135 succumbing to the disease. This leaves the country with a total of 4,282 under management as active cases. Out of this number, 22 are in “severe” conditions and six are in “critical” conditions.
