Dozens of pedestrians have been knocked down by speeding vehicles at Tetegu, Weija and McCarthy Hill Junctions on the Accra-Kasoa highway for the past month as traffic lights at these intersections have been off. Kenya’s education ministry has said that all primary and secondary schools will reopen next year. The ministry said all students would resume studies in their current classes. Education Minister George Magoha said no final-year national examinations would be held for primary and secondary pupils this year. Those exams are usually held in October and November each year. Coronavirus cases in South Africa have passed the 200,000 mark. Health Minister Zweli Mkhize said four provinces were at risk of a surge adding that a lockdown for the provinces was a possibility. Ghana has recorded the highest number of cases yet since the outbreak of coronavirus in the country on Thursday, March 12. According to the latest release by the Disease Surveillance Department of the Ghana Health Service (GHS) on Monday, July 6, 992 new cases have been confirmed. As a result, from 20,085 on Sunday, the country’s total cumulative cases have reached 21,077. Seven more persons have also lost the battle to the virus, bringing the total number of fatalities to 129. On the brighter side, 16,070 patients have either recovered or been discharged.
