Western Region Deputy Director of the Ghana Health Service Dr. Kofi Asemanyi-Mensah has revealed exclusively to 3news.com that all eight suspected coronavirus cases from health facilities have tested negative. “Here in the Western Region, we have no confirmed case,” Dr Asemanyi-Mensah stressed. “We had several suspected cases which samples we’ve taken. But so far, all the samples sent to Noguchi, none of them have been confirmed to be a Covid-19 case. Ghana issued a travel restriction last Tuesday, banning visitors from countries with at least 200 cases of coronavirus. Beaches in Ghana have been closed by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) “until further notice”. As a result, National Security operatives as well as officers of the Ghana Police Service will begin patrols along the beaches from Tuesday, March 24 “to ensure compliance with the closure”.
