The JEA Mills-led government and the Mahama-led administration have been separately fingered in a major corruption case involving the procurement of C-295 military aircrafts for Ghana. The aircrafts were procured from Dutch firm Airbus SE, which has been found guilty in shady deals in some countries across the globe. A man has died of the coronavirus in the Philippines in the virus’s first confirmed fatality outside China. The patient was a 44-year-old Chinese man from Wuhan, in Hubei province, where the virus was first detected. He appeared to have been infected before arriving in the Philippines, the World Health Organization said. More than 300 people have died in the outbreak so far, the vast majority from Hubei, and more than 14,000 people have been infected. She said the Chair of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Jean Mensa, should simply be allowed to do her job. Fifa President, Gianni Infantino, has proposed to the Confederation of African Football (Caf) that the Africa Cup of Nations be held every four years instead of two, as he outlined his vision to “project African football to the top of the world”. It has come to light that all Ghanaian students in China are safe from the deadly coronavirus. This was made known after a crunch 4-hour meeting held on Wednesday, January 29 between the Embassy of Ghana and China executives of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS).
