Thirty-four persons have been confirmed dead in a motor accident at Dompoase near Komenda in the Central Region. The gory accident, which occurred at around midnight on Monday, January 13 involved a Man Diesel bus with registration number GR 5704-18 – which is said to be travelling from Takoradi to Accra – and a Hyundai bus with registration number GN 3780-10 heading the in the opposite direction. The Technical University Teachers Association of Ghana (TUTAG) and the Technical University Senior Administrators of Ghana (TUSAAG) are yet to call off their strike actions despite an order to do so by the National Labour Commission (NLC). Police have arrested four of the leaders of some trained teachers who have been picketing at the premises of the Ghana Education Service (GES) on Monday morning.
