Members of the National Fisheries Association of Ghana (NAFAG) have given the Fisheries Commission 48 hours to withdraw the new licence fees announced for 2020. Among other reasons, NAFAG says members were given too short a notice for implementation of the decision. The Fisheries Commission, in a notice on Tuesday, December 31, 2019, announced a chargeable rate of $200 or its equivalent at the prevailing Bank of Ghana rate as licence fees for all industrial fishing vessels. Black Stars coach James Kwesi Appiah is no longer in charge of the senior national men’s soccer team after the Ghana Football Association (GFA) dissolved all technical teams of the various national teams. The decision, which takes immediate effect, “affects both male and female national teams,” a statement from the Communications Department of the Association on Thursday said.
