A student of Alhassan Gbanzaba Memorial School, Nadia Chelpang Mashoud, has been crowned the 2020 Spelling Bee winner. She beat competition from 150 other contest to emerge winner. The Coalition of Aggrieved customers of Gold Coast Fund Management on Monday appealed to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to guarantee full payment of their locked up investments. President Akufo-Addo in 2019 directed the Ministry of Finance to work with the Bank of Ghana to ensure a 100 per cent payment of depositors of failed banks, microfinance, and savings and loan companies whose licenses were revoked. Malawi’s constitutional court has annulled last year’s controversial election, which saw President Peter Mutharika re-elected. The judge found there had been widespread irregularities in the May 21 vote. This is the first election to be legally challenged since Malawi’s independence. About 290 students of the Buipe Senior High School in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region have been asked to return home. This follows the outbreak of fire that razed the entire girls’ dormitory on Monday, February 3.
