Boris Johnson and Jeremy Corbyn have clashed over Brexit in the first TV election debate of the campaign. Mr Johnson promised to “end this national misery” and said Labour offered “only division and deadlock”. Mr Corbyn said Labour would “get Brexit sorted by giving you, the people, the final say”. The two leaders also locked horns over the NHS, trust and leadership, the future of Scotland – and the Royal Family. BBC political editor Laura Kuenssberg said it was not clear if either men had won or lost the debate but it was striking how the audience had been ready…

After the charges against Mr Azamati were successfully appealed, Mr McGrath…

Despite the loss, the Meteors have another chance of making it to the 2020 Olympic Games as they play in the 3rd place play-offs on Friday. The Ivorians, winners of Group B which had South Africa, Nigeria and Zambia, began the game at…
Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Constituency Ras Mubarak has made a U-turn over his decision to vote ‘Yes’ in the upcoming referendum in contrast to his party’s position. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) after a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting called on its numerous supporters to vote ‘No’ in the referendum, which seeks to allow – or not – the introduction of party politics in district level elections. But Alhaji Mubarak took a dissenting stance by backing a ‘Yes’ vote, same as the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Minority Leader of Parliament Haruna Iddrisu had earlier cautioned all members to back…
A leading charity, Marie Stopes, says it has recalled more than a million condoms distributed in Uganda following concerns about their safe use. Tests had found some of the Indian-manufactured Life Guard brand contained holes or risked bursting, Uganda’s National Drug Authority (NDA) said. Marie Stopes provides contraception and family planning services in more than 35 countries. Nearly 6% of adults in Uganda live with HIV, the UN says. Other research suggests that only 11% of people in the country have planned pregnancies. Marie Stopes supplies between 1.5 million and two million condoms to Uganda every month. “We can confirm…
