The 2019 Open Doors Report on international education has shown an overall 13.9 per cent increase over 2018 in the number of Ghanaian students attending universities and colleges in the United States, from 3,213 to 3,661.  This brings Ghana into second place in Sub-Saharan Africa, a spot previously held by Kenya. The White House confirmed he underwent an exam and some laboratory tests on Saturday at Walter Reed Medical Center in Washington. A Deputy Chair of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC), Dr Bossman Eric Asare, has assured that the election-management body is ready to conduct the December 17 referendum. Police are surrounding a Hong Kong university campus after a fiery overnight stand-off with hundreds of protesters inside. Dozens of protesters tried to leave after sunrise but turned back as police fired tear gas and rubber bullets. The Minister of Health, Kwaku Agyemang-Manu, says Ghanaians should exercise patience in calls to have ambulances parked in front of the State House distributed to health facilities across the country. He says government is awaiting more of the ambulances before starting distribution.
