President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has given the strongest indication yet that “tough, prudent and innovative” measures will be adopted to restore the country to its economic viability. According to him, the last eight years have seen Ghana’s debt stock rise to 74 per cent of gross domestic product (GDP), a situation that leaves the economy on the brink of collapse. “There is practically no fiscal space left,” he stressed. But the president assured that: “I will not allow the economy to collapse under my watch.” President Akufo-Addo gave this assurance in his maiden state-of-the-nation address to Parliament on Tuesday,…

https://youtu.be/ySbs0a0I-QQ Out of invisible boundaries Africa was needlessly partitioned displacing families and creating an illusion of a different African people. Slavery and colonization held back the growth and civilization process of Africans, mentally erasing and blinding Africans of their immense contributions towards humanity. The colonization of Gold Coast by the British for the sake of natural resources and minerals was a difficult moment as the people resisted…

The government and the United Nations report that 100,000 people are facing starvation, with a million more on the brink of famine. A combination of civil war and an economic collapse have been blamed. There have been warnings of famine in Yemen, Somalia and north-eastern Nigeria, but South Sudan is the first to declare one. Last week, the UN World Food Programme (WFP) warned that more than 20 million people may face starvation in a series…
