The Head of the Currency Processing Operations at the Bank of Ghana, Dominic Owusu, has disclosed that Bank of Ghana has no intention of setting up a printing facility to print Cedis anytime soon. “We don’t have the capacity and it is a very expensive venture,” he stated. Pressure group OccupyGhana has called on the Auditor-General to open every sealed envelope containing declaration of assets and liabilities by public office holders. According to the group, the “secret” declaration is “unconstitutional”. These demands were made by a statement issued on Tuesday, January 7 to mark Constitution Day.
