A 36-year-old driver was shot and killed after four suspected armed robbers attacked his commercial vehicle at Ekumfi Ekrowful on the Ajumako-Accra road in the Central Region. The belongings of passengers were also stolen by the robbers. The incident happened on Friday dawn around 3:00am. Member of Parliament for the Tamale North Constituency Alhassan Suhuyini Sayibu has described as “reckless” the banking sector clean-up carried out by the Bank of Ghana. “We would have done this banking sector clean-up in a different way to secure jobs,” he insisted. A member of the Parliamentary Select Committee on Roads and Transport in Parliament is advocating for over 200 per cent increment in road tolls. The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has clarified that mutual funds and unit trusts previously managed by investment firms whose licenses were recently revoked are still valid and must run. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the National Peace Council (NPC) of deliberately fixing dates of meetings for discussions on the draft roadmap to address political vigilantism in Ghana on days of the impending court case of its National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo.
