The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has put in place new rules for auctions across the country. This takes immediate effect with previous allocations and sales not paid for and cleared by the end of October to be re-allocated at new auctions. The Ghana National Gas Company Limited has awarded scholarships to 45 needy but brilliant students in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality in the Western Region to continue their tertiary level education. The Ashanti Regional Police Command has interdicted three officers for alleged brutality against a 36-year-old man at Adonfe, near Bompata in the Ashanti Region. The three were part of the Konongo Divisional Police Task Force, which embarked on an operation last Monday leading to the death of Kofi Amponsah. The University of Ghana has dismissed reports that it has suspended investigations into the ‘sex for grades’ saga. According to the Director of Public Affairs of the University, a five-member fact-finding committee has been set up to receive complaints from victims and non-victims. The Madina Division of the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) says it has relaxed its operations of apprehending pedestrians for failing to use the Madina-Adentan footbridges for today, Thursday, October 17, 2019. Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram Constituency Samuel Nartey George has vowed to expose government over what he says is the true rationale behind the increase in the Communications Service Tax (CST). He has indicated that the rationale is reason why government is not considering a withdrawal of the tax despite public displeasure at the recent increment.
