The Ashanti Region branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is up in arms against the police after a planned demonstration against the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) was stopped. The NDC had planned the demonstration against the limited registration exercise scheduled to take off on Friday, June 7. The demonstration was scheduled to be held on Monday, June 3. But reports say the Ashanti Regional Police Command secured a court injunction last Friday to stop the opposition party from the protest march. A Japanese man has died on a flight from Mexico City after ingesting 246 bags of cocaine. The flight, bound for Japan’s Narita International Airport, had to make an emergency landing in Mexico’s Sonora state after he began to have seizures.
