Former First Lady Michelle Obama has released a memoir in which she reveals difficulties about her marriage and pregnancy with her two daughters. General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia has blamed the party’s defeat in the 2016 elections on national executives elected in 2014. Ghana’s U-17 women’s soccer team has touched down in Montevideo, Uruguay for the upcoming FIFA Under-17 Women’s World Cup. The Black Maidens have been camped in neighbouring Brazil for their pre-tournament training camp. They jetted to the host country on Thursday in readiness for the opening game of the tournament. Ghana will play the hosts, Uruguay, in Group A and with New Zealand and Finland as well. The tournament begins on Tuesday, November 13 and scheduled to end on Saturday, December 1. Kenya’s Football Federation (FKF) has condemned a Confederation of African Football (Caf) decision to reinstate Equatorial Guinea to the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations. They say they are “profoundly astonished” by the move, which represents “a great injustice” and plan an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (Cas). Equatorial Guinea had been excluded by Caf in October for fielding an ineligible player. On Wednesday Caf reversed that decision following an appeal from Equatorial Guinea, who were restored to the finals in place of Kenya. Ghana Premier League club Hearts of Oak have appointed former Black Stars player Kim Grant as the new coach of the senior side. Grant will also assume the role as the Director of Football for the club, taking charge of all technical aspects including the youth teams. Grant will officially begin work on Saturday, December 1. Youth of Adentan have mounted a blockade on the Madina highway following the killing of a lady said to be a student of West Africa Senior High School Thursday afternoon. They burnt tyres and threatened motorists as they expressed anger over the carnage on the highway. Students of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been left to their fate over the reopening of the school. Government had announced that the school would be reopened for academic activities by Thursday, November 8 after appointing a seven-member interim council.
