A second man has been arrested in connection with Friday’s attack on a London Tube train, police said. The 21-year-old man was arrested in Hounslow, west London, on Saturday night on suspicion of a terror offence and is in custody in south London. An 18-year-old man is also being held on suspicion of a terror offence over the Parsons Green explosion. Home Secretary Amber Rudd told the BBC that the second arrest suggests the attacker was not “a lone wolf”. Speaking to the Andrew Marr Show, Ms Rudd said there was “no evidence” to suggest so-called Islamic State were behind…
Gennady Golovkin’s world middleweight title fight with Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez ended in a controversial draw. After a closely fought bout in Las Vegas, one judge scored it 118-110 for Alvarez, another 115-113 for Golovkin and the third a 114-114 draw. There were boos when the decision was announced at the T-Mobile Arena, and both boxers shook their heads. Kazakh Golovkin, 35, retains his WBA, WBC and IBF titles and remains unbeaten in 38 fights. His Mexican opponent, 27, started and finished an absorbing fight the stronger, and also produced some of the more eye-catching shots. Golovkin, though, landed more punches…

Black Stars forward Christian Atsu was on target on Saturday as Newcastle United beat Stoke City 2-1 to record their third successive win in the 2017/18 English Premier League. He had been on a goal drought during his stints with Everton and AFC Bournemouth. Though Xherdan Shaqiri equalized for the Potters in the second half, skipper Jamaal Lascelles headed home a winner from another…
Actress Vicky Zugah believes some churches are not doing their members any favours with pre-marital counseling but rather paving the way for them to end up in hell. Counseling has become the norm for most couples who intend to get married after having been in a relationship for some time but there have been concerns about whether people practise laid down procedures set by God. Avoiding pre-marital sex, for example, is a must for Christians as part of marriage preparations. Making her point on The Purple Room on Angel TV, the actress stated that the direction of some churches on…
Freight forwarders have raised concerns over the “aggressive” timeline in the implementation of the paperless system at the ports as directed by Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia. They claim though they have been involved in meetings since the announcement by Vice President Bawumia in May, a lot more should have been done before the takeoff on Friday, September 1. Speaking on TV3’s Hot Issues on Saturday, the President of the Ghana Institute of Freight Forwarders, Kwabena Ofosu Appiah, said “I think that if we had anticipated a very aggressive timeline and had probably put ourselves in better shape, we would…

Member of Parliament for Builsa South Constituency Dr Clement Apaak says all the recent concerns raised by former president Jerry John Rawlings regarding the National Democratic Congress (NDC) are already being addressed with the roadmap of the Kwesi Botchwey Committee report. He, therefore, said the concerns are not new and just a “reminder” to the party. The founder of the NDC, Mr Rawlings, on Friday asserted that his party may not reclaim power from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2020 given the apparent disunity in the former and the growing popularity of the latter’s leader based on the implementation…
