The Ghana School of Survey and Mapping has been re-opened for academic activities after a month of closure by the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources. The School will open for full activities on Monday, June 12, according to John-Peter Amewu. He said the issues that led to the shutdown of the school have been successfully resolved. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has lined up a “massive durbar” at the Mandela Park in Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region to mark its Silver jubilee. The current leading opposition party was founded on June 10, 1992 ahead of the elections that marked the return to constitutional rule, later to be the Fourth Republic. The fallen hero, late Major Maxwell Adam Mahama who was slain in line of duty, has been laid to rest with full military honours. A burial service was held at the forecourt of the State House in Accra on June 9, after which he was buried at the Osu Military Cemetery.
