Members of the Asomakoma royal family of Wassa Fiase were on Tuesday morning clad in red in a demonstration to send a warning to a rival family over the planned installment of a paramount chief for the Wassa Fiase Traditional Area. According to the family, the Area already has a paramount chief from Benso but plans are underway to enstool another person as paramount chief without the knowledge of the queen mother and elders. EFCC Nigerians have been shocked and bemused after huge piles of cash have been unearthed in various parts of the country in recent months. Barely 48 hours after TV3’s report on the invasion of cocoa farms by armyworms within the Ejisu-Juaben and Mampong municipalities of the Ashanti Region, the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has intervened. The Cocoa Health Extension Division of COCOBOD has presented several boxes of insecticide to affected cocoa farmers to control the spread of the pests.
