The head of the Ashanti Regional Police Command says his outfit has begun gathering information again on the eight members of vigilante group Delta Force who were recently discharged after aiding the escape of 13 other members from court. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Isaac Ken Yeboah expressed hope that witnesses will come out this time for evidence to be obtained against the eight. Healing Words Foundation, a US-based non-governmental organisation, recently donated a variety of literary items to paediatric patients at the FOCOS Orthopaedic Hospital to help improve upon their reading skills. Approximately 150 books, ranging from non-fiction to reference books written in English and Amharic, were presented to the children, many coming from various countries including Ghana, Nigeria, and Ethiopia. The books were to help supplement the efforts of FOCOS Hospital in educating these children while they undergo treatment for various orthopedic conditions and disorders, sometimes staying at the facility for 3- 6 months. India has inaugurated a 9.15km (5.68-mile) bridge over the Lohit river, easily its longest ever, which connects the disputed state of Arunachal Pradesh with the north-eastern state of Assam. The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has listed illegal mining and the erratic gas supply from Nigeria as a major dampener on its ability to transmit power efficiently to consumers. At least 23 people have been killed and 25 wounded after gunmen opened fire on a bus carrying Coptic Christians in central Egypt, state media report. The incident occurred in Minya province, about 220km (140 miles) south of the capital Cairo, as the bus headed to the Monastery of St Samuel. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has returned to Harvard University under rainy skies to give a graduation speech and receive an honorary degree. The world’s fifth-richest person, worth $62.3bn (£48.1bn), famously dropped out of Harvard after launching the global social-networking website. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is scheduled to leave Ghana for Monrovia, Liberia on Friday, May 26 as part of the third phase of his tour of West Africa. President Akufo-Addo began the phase last Tuesday with a visit to Sierra Leone.
