The Hunters were beaten 4-1 at the July 5 Stadium in Algiers by MC Alger, who qualify on a 5-3 aggregate. The Acting Inspector General of Police, David Asante-Apeatu, has rung yet another shake-up within the senior ranks of the Ghana Police Service. Among the changes, which took immediate effect upon a press release on Friday, February 17, sees the Public Relations Officers (PROs) of the Ashanti, Eastern and Northern regional commands making moves. Popular gospel musician SP Kofi Sarpong has also been transferred from the Ashanti Regional Command to the National Headquarters to be in charge of Procurement. A high-powered two-man delegation from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has visited injured Black Stars defender Baba Abdul-Rahman in Germany. The delegation, led by the federation’s vice-president George Afriyie, arrived in Gelsenkirchen on Saturday morning to check on the Schalke player’s injury recovery. Rahman, who suffered a knee injury while playing for Ghana at the recent Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon, received the delegation at his home near Dusseldorf. The Gambia has sworn in its new president, Adama Barrow, in front of a crowd of thousands. It is the second time Mr Barrow has taken the oath. The first time was at very low-key event at the country’s embassy in Senegal last month, after a lengthy power struggle forced him into exile.
