Government has said that it would incorporate cybersecurity education into the basic and senior secondary schools in Ghana as part of an agenda to build capacity of citizenry in tackling cybersecurity. Justin Trudeau’s Liberal Party has retained power in a narrow Canadian election win but he will now be prime minister of a minority government. Former Power Minister, Dr. Kwabena Donkor has backed government’s decision to abrogate the controversial Power Distribution Services (PDS) concession agreement with the Electricity Company of Ghana. The Ghana Education Service (GES) is currently undergoing the process of posting teachers who passed the 2018 Licensure Examination. According to the GES, postings will be completed and made public by end of November, 2019. GES noted in a statement that only persons who completed Colleges of Education and passed all necessary examinations in 2018 will be posted. A private security company, Chriwdog Security Company, as part of efforts to motivate teachers in their line of work has presented three separate awards to some teachers of the New Akrade Presbyterian Primary School in the Eastern Region. The US government is threatening sanctions against Ghana over the termination of the controversial Power Distribution Services (PDS) Ghana Limited deal with the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG). Government in a letter dated October 18, 2019 to the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) announced the termination of the agreement which came into effect on March 1, 2019 and saw PDS take over Ghana’s major power distribution company, ECG.
