A member of the Women Caucus in Parliament has threatened to kill any male teacher who makes sexual advances at her daughter in any educational institution in the country. The Member of Parliament for Bosome-Freho Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Joyce Adwoa Akoh Dei, said such acts “should not be tolerated in schools” because they have tendencies of ruining the victims’ lives. “I will kill anybody who messes [up] with my daughter like that,” the MP warned. The government has released GH¢88,056,438 for disbursement to all public senior high schools (SHSs) for the implementation of the free SHS programme for the 2019/2020 academic. The Accra Circuit Court Four on Tuesday acquitted Dr Dominic Kwame Obeng-Andoh, the Proprietor of the Obengfo Hospital, located at Weija in Accra. He was charged for being an unregistered practitioner and operating an unlicensed health facility, but the Court did not find him culpable per the way the charges were framed by the prosecution. Former president John Jerry Rawlings has condemned the police for brutalizing some law graduates who demonstrated on Monday to push for reforms in Ghana’s legal education. In a show of what the Rawlings described as high-handedness, police personnel offering protection to the protesters brutalised some of the law students as they insisted on marching to the Jubilee House to petition President Akufo-Addo on their concerns.
