Mr Ignatius Baffour-Awuah, the Minister of Employment and Labour Relations, has implored employers to review the contract and working conditions of fixed term contract workers to improve upon their welfare and ensure job security. He urged the National Tripartite Committee to dialogue with employers on fixed term contracts of workers to ensure sustainable jobs and compliance with the International Labour Organization’s standards. Former President John Dramani Mahama says the demand for legal services in Ghana has necessitated the need to expand legal education. He has therefore urged the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) to push for expansion of legal education in Ghana, but without compromising on quality. Diploma nurses and midwives currently undertaking their national service at various health institutions across the country are demanding immediate payment of their allowance which has been in arrears for six months now.
