Achimota Secondary School, one of Ghana’s foremost Senior High Schools has won a ‘land’ mark case against Netlynk and 66 other encroachers who had illegally acquired lands belonging to the school. A former minister, Murtala Mohammed, has laughed off President Nana Akufo-Addo’s warning to New Patriotic Party supporters and Ghanaians in general that he would not shield lawbreakers in the country. The Somali soldier who shot dead the country’s youngest-ever cabinet minister last month has been sentenced to death by firing squad. Abas Abdullahi Siraji was in his car near the presidential palace in Mogadishu when he was killed by Ahmed Abdullahi Abdi, who reportedly mistook him for a militant Islamist. Barclays and four former executives have been charged with fraud over their actions in the 2008 financial crisis. The Serious Fraud Office case relates to the billion of pounds the bank raised from Qatari investors enabling it to avoid a government bailout.
