A 48-year-old farmer has been arrested for hacking his grandson for attempting to steal at Nyamebekyere, a farming community near Enchi in the Western Region. The accused, Asubire Azure, also known as Baba Alhassan, a Mossi, was said to have returned home from town and accused the boy, Michael Atanga, 13, of trying to go through his ceiling to steal some undisclosed items in his room. The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) Ghana is demanding full scale investigations into the proliferation of black market trade in the petroleum downstream sector that allegedly caused the country to lose GHC850 million in revenue in 2016.
