The GN Bank owned by businessman cum politician Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom was caught up in fire Saturday evening as helpless fire personnel struggled to douse the fire. TV3’s Selorm Amenyah who was at the scene gathered that the fire started from the Business Television Africa (BTA) before spreading to the bank and part of the Three Star Coconut Grove Regency Hotel which shared the same compound with the television station. Economic analyst, Joe Jackson says he disagrees with the government’s defence regarding the recent 2.25 billion dollar bond. Minority Members of Parliament have called for a parliamentary inquiry into how some persons they refer to as very close friends of the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, purchased 95 percent of the bond. There have been incessant gunshots crying through the two rival communities of Alavanyo and Nkonya in the Volta region since Friday evening. Residents in these two communities had to stay awake throughout the night yesterday to ward off glaring attacks and to protect lives and properties. The United States has confirmed it will be going through with a migrant resettlement plan made with Australia. US President Donald Trump once called the deal, which was agreed under his predecessor, “dumb”. The agreement allows for up to 1,250 asylum seekers to Australia to resettle in the US.
