President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has submitted to the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, the full list of government appointees to serve on the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly to pave the way for their inauguration. A meeting of the Assembly is expected to be convened soon to swear into office the appointees. The appointees to most of the various metropolitan, municipal and district assemblies across the country sworn into office Monday but the exercise was suspended in some Assemblies including disagreement over the list and court injunctions. The Canadian government is set to inject a total of 120m dollars (125 million Canadian Dollars) into the Planting For Food and Jobs initiative being spearheaded by the Ministry of Food and Agriculture. Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari has asked the parliament to extend his medical leave in the UK, amid concerns that his health may be worse than officials are publicly saying. The 74-year-old leader, who has been out of the country for two weeks, was expected to return to Abuja on Sunday. An official statement said he had been advised by doctors to await the results of a series of tests. However, it did not say how much extra time would be needed. Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture-designate, Catherine Afeku has announced that part of the Christianborg (Osu) Castle would be converted into a museum to house relics of Ghanaian legends. The castle, which until 2012 was the seat of Ghana’s government, is located at the coast in the country’s capital, Accra.
