Thomas Ampem Nyarko[/caption] The Member of Parliament for Asuogyaman Constituency in the Eastern Region, Thomas Ampem Nyarko has observed that it was for a good reason why President Akufo-Addo kept his State of the Nation Address brief. The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP underscored that the president may not have the stamina to stand for long, explaining that a short address will save Nana Akufo-Addo from collapsing. Mr. Ampem Nyarko was contributing to discussions on Onua FM’s Yen Nsempa hosted by Bright Kwasi Asempa on Wednesday. “Ghanaians would not want to see him falling down, so it was good he was brief…
The past is the past when it comes to relationships. And, of course, we have to respect our partner’s privacy and boundaries. So if they don’t like talking about their past relationships, or offer very little information, that’s the end of that. But what if you’re dating someone new and you’re dying to know who and how they dated in the past? You don’t want to appear suspicious and insecure; you’re just … curious. While the experts agree that deceit can be dangerous — and you definitely don’t want to lose your partner’s trust — there are ways to obtain…

It was a pathetic and heart wrenching scene at Kojokrom, a suburb of Essikado in the Western Region, when a middle aged man was cut into parts by a train Tuesday evening. The incident happened around the newly constructed Railway Terminal. The man believed to be in his 50s died on the spot. According to eyewitnesses, the deceased was among a group of persons suspected to be alcoholics who normally gather around the newly constructed terminal at night to drink and smoke marijuana. Unfortunately, luck eluded the deceased and could not run to safety as a train carrying manganese from…
Member of Parliament for Krachi West, Helen Adjoa Ntoso, has asked President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to tread cautiously in his bid to fix the “heavily indebted” economy and not rush to hit a snag. The president in delivering his maiden State of the Nation Address Tuesday said the economic situation of the country requires immediate action and that he is in a hurry to fix it, urging all Ghanaians to be in a hurry. “I have heard it said that I am behaving like a man in a hurry. Mr. Speaker, I am, indeed, in a hurry, I am…
The Trump administration has issued tough guidelines to widen the net for deporting illegal immigrants from the US, and speed up their removal. Undocumented immigrants arrested for traffic violations or shop-lifting will be targeted along with those convicted of more serious crimes. The memos do not alter US immigration laws, but take a much tougher approach towards enforcing existing measures. There are an estimated 11 million illegal immigrants in the US. White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said on Tuesday the new guidelines would not usher in mass deportations, but were designed to empower agents to enforce laws already on…
It has emerged that some communities in the Volta Region of Ghana contribute money to pay for the services of ‘pupil teachers’ of basic schools in their locality that do not have government employed teachers. Against this background, she said the people in those communities resolved to find alternative means, hence liaised with the Youth Employment Agency from which people are employed as teachers for the communities to contribute to…
Assets and accounts of the former Chief Executive of the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD), Dr Stephen Opuni, have been frozen, 3News can authoritatively report. The freeze is in line with an ongoing investigations into his tenure by the Economic and Organised Crime Office. He is being investigated for corruption and wrongful acquisition of some properties, deep throat sources told 3News Tuesday. The Ministry of Agriculture, which has an oversight responsibility over COCOBOD, has been tight-lipped on the issue. Dr Opuni who was appointed CEO of COCOBOD by former president, John Mahama in November 2013, had his administration fraught with allegations…
The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, is not my friend. I haven’t even set eyes on the man before but I pretty much have a fair idea what style he gravitates towards. It is his style and it tickles my senses in ways that my senses have not tickled in a very, very long time. This his style of suiting all the time is very much a concern to me as much as the expectations of a great number of Ghanaians on having promises fulfilled them following his government’s impressive victory in the general elections of 2016. So let us…
