An auction house in Belgium was forced to cancel the sale of three skulls of Africans killed during the colonial period in what is now modern Democratic Republic of Congo. The Commercial Division of the Accra High Court has rejected the terms of settlements reached between state prosecutors and the founder of Capital Bank, William Ato Essien. Mr. Essien, per the agreement, agreed to pay GH₵90 million in total: GH₵30 million today and GH₵60 million in an agreed instalment settlement with the state. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released provisional results of candidates who sat for the 2022 WASSCE, cancelling the entire results of 518 candidates. A total number of 422,883 candidates made up of 203,753 males and 219,130 females from 977 schools took part in the examination, the Council said in a state issued on Thursday, December 1, 2022.
