Deputy Chief of Staff at the Office of the President, Francis Asenso Boakye has denied an allegation by political scientist, Dr. Amoako Baah that he denied him access to the president. Springfield Exploration and Production (SEP) and its partners have officially announced the discovery of oil its maiden drilling campaign in the West Cape Three Points (WCTP) Block 2 in Ghana’s offshore. Afina-1 which is located at a water depth of 1,030 metres was drilled to a total depth of 4, 085 metres and encountered light oil with a gross thickness of 65 metres, with 50 metres light net oil pay in good quality Cenomanian sandstones. Striking workers of the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) have been asked to suspend their action and petition parliament to amicably settle whatever grievances they have. The Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) has summoned its staff to an emergency meeting over the declaration of a sit down strike expected to begin today. Leadership of GRIDCo staff on Tuesday announced an indefinite strike to push government and other institutions to pay their debt to the power transmission company which is running into 1.2 billion cedis.
