Some analysts have questioned the research methodology of the latest Afrobarometer report which concluded that 59 per cent of Ghanaians say the country’s economy is heading in the wrong direction. United States Deputy Secretary of Agriculture, Stephen Lee Censky has said the US government is committed to lending support to ensure the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) is a success. The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) has for three years running recorded losses, with a net loss of 114.3 million cedis last year. According to GRIDCo, the Volta Aluminum Company Limited (VALCO) owes it 30-million dollars while ECG and NEDCo also owed about 607 million cedis and 177 million cedis respectively. It has warned to disconnect power VALCOon December 30 if its debt is not settled by then. The indebtedness of the three companies, GRIDCo management said, was hampering the operations of the company.
