The ferry loaded with three cargo trucks full of yams that sunk Friday on the Volta lake at Makango was still in the water Saturday afternoon. When 3news’ Christopher Amoako visited the area on Saturday and reported that one of the trucks aboard the ferry has virtually submerged. A group of young men were also seen offloading the yams into canoes and boats. Officials from the Salaga Fire Service Division were also seen waiting to drain the water from the Ferry. The embattled chief of Bole, Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso has insisted that he will celebrate the 2019 Damba festival despite a ban by the Gonja Traditional Council. The Online Drivers Union is set to embark on a demonstration to protest the introduction of a 60 cedis annual fee by the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA). This comes on the back of an announcement by the DVLA that all drivers who use ride-hailing platforms will begin to pay an annual fee of GH¢60.00.
