The Ghana Education Service (GES) has justified its decision to extend the mid-term holidays for senior high schools across the country by three more days. The GES in a November 7 memo to directors of education announced a postponement of the resumption date for SHS students on mid-terms, from November 12 to 15. The strategic partnership entered into between Cote d’Ivoire and Ghana has begun yielding dividends in cocoa production and marketing policy, President Nana Akufo-Addo has said. A living income differential of 400 dollars per tonne will be paid to farmers for all categories of cocoa beans from Ghana and Cote d’Ivoire for the 2020/2021 crop season, when implementation of the new price mechanism is begins. President Nana Akufo-Addo says his government has in the last three years fixed Ghana’s poor economic fundamentals left by the John Mahama administration. The High Court in Cape Coast has dismissed an application filed by the six persons seeking to challenge among other things the legality of the appointment of the Vice Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba, Prof. Anthony Afful-Broni. Earlier the court dismissed the EOCO report which was heavily relied upon by Alex Afenyo Markin and Harold Atuguba both counsel for the six applicants and 2nd respond filed to exonerate his clients.
