News of American rapper Cardi B’s alleged refusal to show up for a meet-and-greet session with some Ghanaian celebrities and media personalities on Sunday caused a stir on social media
The rapper who is in Ghana for a concert arrived in the country Sunday afternoon ahead of the show that night and was reportedly supposed to have a meet-and-greet session with the stars and the media.
Becca, Salma Mumin, Lydia Forson, Sandra Ankobiah, Akuapem Polo and a host of other celebrities and media personalities were at the Kempinski Hotel to see the rapper, but had to wait for hours, making some of them leave the venue out of frustration.
According to some of the celebrities, the rapper was supposed to meet them in the afternoon, but they were later told she would show up at 8:30pm after they had waited for hours.
While the stars were waiting, a video of Cardi B relaxed by the poolside with a khebab in hand was posted on the rapper’s Instagram page, causing a stir, with many of the celebrities complaining of her enjoying and ignoring them while they waited for hours.
Socialite, Mona, known popularly as Hajia For Real made an Instagram video in which she expressed her disappointment over the situation.
“I’m really hurt, I disappointed. I was officially invited alongside other celebrities to come and have a meet and greet with Cardi B, but the organizers didn’t let her show up. I came to the poolside, and here she was chewing khebab.”
Singer Wendy Shay took to twitter to express her displeasure over the issue.
So u guys called us to come have a one on one lunch date with @iamcardib and she has been chewing khebab for 7 hours in her room without showing up
What do u guys take Ghana celebrities for ?! This can never happen in Nigeria

Blogger Ameyaw Debrah also complained about the situation on Twitter.

It was until 10:00 p.m. that the rapper finally showed up to meet the stars and the media, after she explained in an Istagram post she had no knowledge whatsoever of the planned meet-and-greet session.
According to her, she had a stomach upset and was trying to deal with it before her performance at the Accra Sports Stadium, adding she was not informed some people were waiting for her.
