The Chief Justice, Kwasi Anin-Yeboah, has begun a 14-day self-isolation, 3news.com has gathered.
He was asked to take this precautionary measure on the advice of his doctors.
This could have been occasioned by reports that some Supreme Court judges have tested positive for coronavirus.
The infections at government institutions and private firms are said to be among the latest increased cases to be recorded in Ghana.
This has prompted the Minister of Trade and Industry to outline some guidelines for companies in slowing the spread of the virus.
The Minister of Employment and Labour Relations also followed up with a directive of setting up a task force, which will pay unannounced visits to institutions to enforce the safety protocols.
Nonetheless, most institutions have recorded cases of the virus with some shutting down for disinfection.
The Presidency has been no exception as at least one person within the president’s close circle has tested positive.
This has forced the president to go into a 14-day self-isolation.
On Tuesday, July 7, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo-Maafo also had his test samples return positive, forcing him into self-isolation.
The Chief Justice’s condition was communicated in a circular issued to High Court judges by the Judicial Secretary, Cynthia Pamela Addo.
“Respectfully, His Lordship the Chief Justice has from 6th July, 2020, on the advice of his doctors, embarked on a fourteen (14) day self-isolation in compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
“During the period, His Lordship will be working from the Chief Justice’s Official Residence at Cantonments, Accra.”
