Ghana’s case count as regards the coronavirus pandemic has reached 1,279 in the latest confirmation by the Ghana Health Service (GHS).
Greater Accra Region’s case count has gone past the 1,000 mark as Oti Region becomes the latest region to record cases.
While Greater Accra Region’s figure is 1,089, Oti Region’s is 13, which is joint 4th with Northern Region in the regional breakdown.
Significantly, 14 more persons have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries to 134 while there is a 10th death.
This comes barely a day after the data on the official website of GHS went off.
The new interface came with a regional breakdown alongside the latest figure, which undoubtedly comes from the backlog of tests conducted by the research laboratories.
Aside Greater Accra Region leading the pack, Ashanti Region follows with 69 cases.
Eastern Region is third with 56 cases.
Northern and Oti regions are joint fourth.
Volta Region, out of which Oti was carved, are sixth with a total of 10 cases.
Central Region follows with just one short.
With eight cases each the two ‘Upper’ regions – Upper East and Upper West – are joint eighth.
The North East Region are 10th with two cases.
With one case apiece, the Western and Western North regions follow.
The Savannah, Bono, Bono East and Ahafo regions are so far the regions without cases.
