Ecobank Ghana Limited has refuted reports that a High Court has granted a request for the seizure of its properties at its head office in Accra over refusal to honour a debt obligation.
The request was granted, the reports said, after the bank defaulted in paying a businessman and two others a GHȻ4 million debt owed them.

But in a statement on Tuesday, July 21, management said no record exists that such execution has been levied on the multinational banking firm.
“Ecobank unequivocally refutes the story as reported,” it said, “and states clearly for the records that no such execution has been levied on the Bank.”
It assured customers and, indeed, the general public that it is still open for business.
“Ecobank is open for business and assures all stakeholders and the general public that the Bank is fully compliant with all legal and regulatory directives.”
