The Executive Secretary of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), Raymond Archer, has hinted that new charges against the former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Food Buffer Stock Company will be filed latest in a fortnight.
He claims interrogation of Abdul-Wahab Hanan has been completed with the report forwarded to the Attorney General for review.
This comes amid concerns raised about the rearrest of the former NAFBCO CEO after the case against him was struck out by an Accra High Court.
Immediately the High Court struck out the criminal charges on Tuesday, May 5, EOCO arrested the accused and his wife, Faiza Seidu Wuni, on fresh charges.
Speaking on Joy News’ News File on Saturday, May 9, Mr Archer said the new evidence will make the case one of the strongest for his outfit.
“Hanan’s case is one of the strongest we have,” he said, promising that all doubters should wait for the magnitude of stealing in the fresh case.
Abdul-Wahab Hanan and his wife are standing trial for a GH¢78.2 million theft case at NAFBCO.
