The Cyber Security Authority (CSA) has hosted a delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Ghana Office to explore opportunities for deeper cooperation in strengthening cybersecurity across the region.
The meeting, which also included representatives from the Ministry of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, focused on leveraging Ghana’s status as a Tier One role model nation to enhance regional cyber resilience through structured knowledge exchange and capacity building.
Officials discussed the growing importance of collaboration as West Africa undergoes rapid digital transformation, with increased exposure to cyber threats targeting individuals, businesses and public institutions.
The CSA underscored that partnerships with international development agencies such as JICA are critical to maximising impact and accelerating cybersecurity maturity across the continent.
The Authority reaffirmed its readiness to support the initiative in key areas, including technical knowledge sharing, child online protection and institutional strengthening. It also highlighted Ghana’s ambition to contribute to positioning Africa as a credible global hub for cybersecurity expertise and innovation.
