An Accra High Court has granted a bail to the tune of GH¢100,000 to the Bono Region Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC.
The bail is with two sureties to be justified by the Court.
He is also expected to submit his travel documents to the Registrar and report every fortnight to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service.
The firebrand NPP activist was arrested by the CID following disparaging comments about a Circuit Court judge.
The comments were deemed criminal for which the party officer was arrested.
He was denied bail by the Circuit Court but this ushered in an impassioned demands from the NPP including its Members of Parliament (MPs), who called for his release.
On Thursday, an application at the Accra High Court was granted.
