In a strong reaffirmation of its commitment to Ghana’s sporting excellence, KGL Group—Ghana’s leading wholly-owned Indigenous conglomerate with interests in technology innovation, fintech, logistics, trade, property development, gaming, and commerce—has renewed its unwavering dedication to sports development in the country.

The Group, has signed a landmark two-year sponsorship agreement worth GH¢ 20 million with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to support the Black Stars.

This renewed partnership reflects the growing impact of sustained calls by national leadership, particularly the Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Iddie Adams, for greater corporate involvement in advancing sports development across Ghana.

It also responds to President John Dramani Mahama’s longstanding call for corporate Ghana to “bring back the love” for the Black Stars and rekindle national unity and pride through sport.

At the official signing ceremony, KGL Group’s executive chairman, Alex Apau Dadey, emphasised that the sponsorship was far more than corporate philanthropy or a routine CSR obligation—it was a patriotic response to a national call to action.

“At KGL Group, we believe that sport is a powerful force for national transformation—instilling discipline, resilience, unity, and pride in communities,” Mr Dadey said.

“We are proud to contribute to Ghana’s sporting journey and to be part of the broader national effort to restore pride and belief in the Black Stars.”

Mr Dadey also expressed profound appreciation to key individuals whose leadership and advocacy were instrumental in bringing the agreement to fruition.

“We are especially grateful to the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Iddie Adams, for facilitating discussions and negotiations between KGL Group and the GFA that have led to this landmark partnership.”

In a special tribute, Mr Dadey, acknowledged the enduring vision of President John Dramani Mahama, whose commitment to sports infrastructure, youth empowerment, and excellence continues to inspire corporate institutions like KGL Group.

“We are deeply thankful to President Mahama, whose legacy of prioritising sports reminds us of the critical role that investment and collaboration play in building national pride and nurturing future champions,” he added.

Beyond support for the senior national team, KGL Group has demonstrated a long-standing commitment to grassroots development. Through the KGL Foundation, the Group sponsors the Inter-Regional U-17 Colts Championship, offering young footballers from across Ghana a platform to develop their skills and feed into future national squads.

Hon. Kofi Iddie Adams praised the agreement: “We are thrilled to see corporate giants like KGL Group continue to invest in Ghana’s sports development. This sponsorship is a testament to the power of Ghanaian ingenuity to effect real change. KGL’s continued investment in our national team and youth development is truly commendable.”

GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku also expressed his gratitude: “KGL’s unwavering commitment to the Black Stars is proof that, together, we can elevate Ghanaian football to greater heights. We are thankful for this renewed partnership and look forward to achieving great success together.”

As KGL Group embarks on this next chapter with the Black Stars, it does so with pride, purpose, and a clear vision of propelling Ghanaian sport to the global stage.

The renewal of this noble partnership was made possible through the sustained efforts of the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports, Kofi Iddie Adams, and the government of President John Dramani Mahama.
