The Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana (PAOG) has announced that the final Hajj flight originally scheduled to depart from Tamale on Saturday, May 9 has been rescheduled to depart from Accra on Monday, May 11.
The Office, under the leadership of Alhaji Abdul-Rauf Tanko Ibrahim, disclosed that the decision was necessitated by a reduction in the number of pilgrims scheduled to board the final Tamale flight, which fell below the minimum requirement set by airline operational regulations.
As a result, affected pilgrims will be airlifted as part of the Accra-bound flights on Monday.
PAOG assured the public that all pilgrims and their respective agents affected by the change have been duly informed, adding that the adjustment is in line with operational guidelines and is intended to ensure efficiency in the airlifting process.
The Office expressed gratitude to agents, officials, and the general public for their support and cooperation throughout the Tamale phase of the Hajj operations, particularly commending pilgrims from Tamale for their exemplary conduct regarding luggage regulations, reporting time, and general comportment.
As operations shift to Accra, PAOG has urged all prospective pilgrims to adhere strictly to reporting times, comply with luggage regulations, and avoid carrying prohibited items to facilitate a seamless departure process.
The Office says it looks forward to a successful Accra phase of the Hajj operations and calls on all stakeholders to continue their cooperation.
