MCE promises 98% victory for NPP in Dec 7 elections

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akuapem North in the Eastern Region, Denis Edward Aboagye, has vowed to attain 98 per cent victory for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the December 7 polls.

The MCE is hopeful his dream for the party would certainly be realized through self-sacrificing leadership and cordial relationship with the people in the area.

A healthy human capacity building and matchless infrastructural development in the assembly and in the local communities, he believes, would do the magic for him.

Speaking to Nana Yaw Opare on Mantam Mpuntuo on Onua FM, Mr Aboagye said he is poised and determined in to improve people’s lives through development to meet the 98 per cent victory target.

He says the assembly has seen development in all sectors within the three-year period he has been in office as the MCE and has pledged to embark upon more life-changing projects in making NPP attractive to the electorates.

He revealed that the municipal assembly has put in place mechanisms and strategic plans to have a pedestal of economic transformation attracting diverse business entities in the area.

A coffee processing factory, according to Mr Aboagye, has been established by a private company under the One District One Factory (IDIF) policy while other factories are at various stages of completion.

He hinted at a memorandum of understanding (MOU) the assembly is yet to sign with a foreign company (name withheld) to establish a computer assembling factory at Kwaamo in the municipality where a reasonable number of the youth in the area are expected to be employed.

All these developments, according to the MCE, are geared towards transforming the local economy by creating job opportunities and enhancing people’s lives especially that of the teeming youth in the area.

Denis Aboagye took a swipe at the erstwhile National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration for not developing the area or even putting in place developmental strategies regardless of the huge economic prospects in the municipality.

He admitted, however, that he is self-assured to change the face of Akuapem North because that is the reason why President Nana Addo AkufoAddo appointed him as the Municipal Chief Executive and would interminably work harder in attaining overwhelming victory for NPP in December 7 polls.
