Founder and Board Chairman of Bills Microcredit, Richard Nii Armah Quaye, has shared a memorable and transformative encounter he had with his lecturer in the UK who once told him beforehand about his entrepreneurial success.
In a recent interview with Bola Rayon YouTube, Richard Quaye recalled that Michael Mainwaring, his lecturer at the London College of Accountancy had inquired from him about his plan after postgraduation.
Richard in his response was uncertain about his future but his lecturer prophesied to him that he will succeed when he returns to Ghana rather than staying in the UK after school.
According to Richard, Michael Mainwaring assured him that his success will be enormous such that he will pay him (his lecturer) a visit him in the UK in a private jet.
“My lecturer, Michael Mainwaring, called me aside one day and asked, ‘Richard, what are your plans after school?’ And I was like, I’m trying to think about it to see whether I will go and he was like ‘No, I want to believe that when you go back home, you will succeed way better than when you stay here.
“You will make it very big back home, and your success will open doors for you to return to the UK. But this time, I should come back in my private jet and come and pay me a visit,” he said.
He believes that the encounter influenced his life and helped him become one of Ghana’s most successful businessmen today.
As he turns 40, Mr. Quaye also considered his accomplishments and goals for the future including deciding to retire at this age.
“It is monumental for me. I plan on going into retirement at 40,” he shared.
On Thursday, March 13, the entrepreneur captured public attention after acquiring for himself a custom-branded private jet and a high-end Bugatti Chiron to mark his 40th birthday on Friday, March 21.
He shared a post to reveal the private jet which was inscribed with his initials, RNAQ and captioned the post “…and I got myself a jet too #RNAQ40,”
